UCD Resource Mapping

Resource mapping - People Places Equipment and Databases

Resource Mapping can be done many ways. For the purposes of E&E we suggest that you consider a two-prone approach. Begin by surveying each department on campus about what types of equipment they have, whether or not it is available for loan, who to call for assistance, etc. You might also consider surveying a small sample of faculty (your UCD team) to see if they have answers for any of the following questions. Once you have the results from both of these methods you can create a handout/ brochure, website or other means of getting this information to faculty. Remember that resource mapping needs to be updated annually as information changes.

Below are links to examples available to faculty and staff for creating a
resource map.

To learn more about how to do Resource Mapping on your campus, follow this link. (A brief multimedia presentation; Flash required).

We encourage you to use these resources to diversify your teaching in hopes of better reaching all learners. This resource map will be up-dated annually.
